Ever over hear someone sharing their dream just to have someone else snuff it out before it even gets started? This happened to me and it got me to thinking, what would I do if someone stole my thunder and rained on my parade before the floats and balloons made it to the street.  I overheard a conversation between someone who I greatly respect and consider a mentor and a complete stranger.  She was pleading her case and what caught my attention was when she said “it just takes one spark, I am not sure why everyone is so quick to snuff it out.” Songs have been sung, books written, movies produced, even in my own city there is a now annual event 

The phone rang, yet I was not there to answer. A call to “call home” was all that was left, the sinking pit of all my fears overwhelmed my heart full of trepidation.  He does not usually call me, what could he possibly want, wonder what I did this time, the thoughts whirled through my head.  I will just call back later, is what I said to myself, dreading the condemnation that might occur on the other end of the phone. Startled, I must have dosed off or was caught gazing into my own emotional abyss, I jumped a bit when the phone rang again, this time with almost a sense of urgency that could be felt.  I answered bracing myself for the worst, yet hoping for the best.  The voice on the other end trembled as the words were spoken.. ‘it’s your grandfather’. What do you mean grandpa?  I just saw him, we had just talked,

Your kids tug at your sleeve and beg you ‘please, please’.  You take me home and give me my own bed to sleep in oh boy!  We play chase around the house and a game of fetch out in the front yard.  You pet me and rub my belly and tell me how much you love me. As the days go by the games grow shorter that we play, you tell me you are tired and ‘won’t I just go away!’
